Changing a Bioforce UV BulbA UV bulb helps clear green water in fish ponds by clumping together algae particles into larger particles that the filter system can remove. A UV bulb should be change every 6-12 months to maintain good performance. The best time to change a bulb is in the Spring as the weather is warming up. This means the bulb will be at its strongest for the warmer months.Changing The Hozelock Bioforce UV BulbPlease ensure your hands are protected from the pond water before attempting this task. To remove the head of the Hozelock Bioforce you will need to remove the clips from top by pulling them backwards( see Video below), The head can now be pulled off. Next the white vortex section needs to be removed by taking the screw out, twisting the vortex section anti-clockwise and pulling upwards. Now you can see the bulb covered by the quartz glass sleeve. To remove the quartz simply remove the screw and twist and pull anti-clockwise the same as the vortex section. Pull the old bulb out using some paper to protect the bulb and your hands. Push the new bulb into place using some paper for protection Re-fit the quartz glass and the vortex section. To make fitting the head of the bioforce back onto the base easier smear a small amount silicone grease to the larger lid seal before fittingHozelock Biofrorce UV Bulb Video
