Nexus Eazy Pod Air from Evolution Aqua

The Nexus Eazy Pod Air filtration system from Evolution aqua is a smaller and lower priced version of the Nexus Eazy filters which are the world's number 1 professional koi filtration system.

The Eazy Pod Air is a complete mechanical and biological filtration system including a 70 litre air pump for garden ponds up to 20,000 litres / 4,400 gallons or koi ponds up to 10,000 litres / 2,200 gallons
.
Included in this Nexus Eazy Pod Air kit is the Eazy Pod Air filter, the Evolution Aqua Airtech 70 Litre air pump, 10 metres of airline, 2 airstones and the air pump rubber manifold. You will also find an Eazy Pod cleaning pipe, rubber Eazy connectors for the inlet/outlet, slide valve for the inlet, 30 litres of Kaldness K1 filter media and a lid for the Eazy Pod Air.
At only 590mm high (just under 24 inches) the Eazy Pod is a compact and very efficient filter system.

A waste ball valve on the Eazy pod allows for easy removal of waste debris/water.

How The Eazy Pod Works:

Water enters the eazy pod via the inlet and ciculates through the outer chamber which runs around the entire circumference of the Eazy Pod Air. There is a stainless steel screen between the outer chamber and the centeral chamber, this is designed to help the larger solids to settle into the outer chamber. The central chamber holds 30 litres of static K1 filter media and as the water passed through the media, smaller fine solids are collected in the K1. Clean water the rises and runs into  the inner return pipe and back into the pond via the return pipe.

Cleaning The Eazy Pod Air:

Cleaning the Eazy Pod Air is simple, simply insert the cleaning pipe down the return outlet in the centre of the Eazy Pod, this prevents water returning back to the pond whilst cleaning. Allow the water in the Eazy Pod Air to rise level with the overflow then shut the inlet valve and turn off the pond pump. Turn on the air pump and the air valve on the Eazy Pod, this will move the K1 media around in the filter. After 2-3 minutes open the waste valve and completely drain the Air Pod. Close the waste valve, open the inlet valve and turn on the pump to refil the Pod. Repeat the cleaning process if required then remove the cleaning pipe to return to normal filtration cycle. The above procedure is for the pump fed version.
