During the colder months of the year - below 50F (10C) your fish will consume less and should be fed a high wheatgerm content food.  You should only feed them as much as they will consume in 3-5 minutes.  The amount they eat will vary with the water temperature.  Little and often is best.  Uneaten food should be removed as soon as possible.
