The Exo terra Repti Glo 10.0 series lights have a very high UVB outputs similar to that of desert environments. Desert locations receive more sunlight because of less clouds, less air humidity and no plants ot tree to provide shade. Desert reptiles are exposed to more uv radiation than any other reptiles.
This lamp can also be used on screened terrariums or terrarium with dense screen covers to ensure UVB penetration. Dense screens can filter out upto 50% of UVB rays
