How to clean a fish tank

Start from the top of the fish tank and work towards the bottom, scrubbing away any algae stuck to the glass. The algae will reach the bottom of your fish tank, meaning you must clean the gravel. Using a gravel cleaner will displace the gravel and clean the bottom of your fish tank. Once you have cleaned your fish tank, you will need to top up the water in your fish tank.

What temperature should a tropical fish tank be?

Tropical fish are best suited to temperatures of upwards of 20 degrees Celsius. Tropical defines the water temperature as 20 degrees or above. Tropical fish species such as the Redline Torpedo Barb are best suited to temperatures between 20 and 25 degrees. In comparison, the Discus species of tropical fish are suited to temperatures of around 28 degrees.

Are rainbow fish aggressive?

To keep rainbow fish happy, they must be kept in groups of six or more as they are schooling fish. Rainbow fish often become aggressive and attack other fish in the tank.

Rainbow fish are best suited to larger tanks as they will have plenty of space to swim around. Add enough hiding spaces in your fish tank to allow rainbow fish to hide from any aggressive tank members. On the lookout for fish tank accessories? Shop the latest range of artificial plants.
