Kusuri Fluke P is a 5% praziquantel based liquid medication used to eradicate gill flukes, body flukes and tapeworms. The Liquid treatment is safe to use without destroying the benefical bacteria in the filter, Kusuri fluke p can be used at all temperatres, for use only with coldwater ornamental fish.
If the mucus layer is excessive, kusuri advise dosing with Chloramine T at 15g per 1000 gallons, 24 hours before using Fluke P, this will assist in reducing the mucus membrane where body flukes can sometimes get trapped.
Caution: Please check your pH and KH prior to using. Chloramine T can be very toxic in soft water. If your pH is below pH7 (acid) and has a general hardness below 6°dH (soft water) reduce the dose by 75%. Do not use with salt.
How to use:
Switch UV steriliser, carbon filter and protein skimmer off until treatment is complete after 7 days.
Check water temperature before use. For best results use above 12°C. Below 12°C parasites become dormant. Be aware of day to evening temperature fluctuations.
TIGHTEN CAP AND SHAKE VIGOROUSLY BEFORE USE. Use cup to measure the correct dose. Add to a clean watering can then fill with pond water. Gradually pour across the surface area of the pond over a one hour period.
This is desiged as a one off treatment but may require a second dose after 7 days in heavy infestations. Kusuri recommend a scrape and microscape identification prior to a second application. May cause temporary foaming.
Dosage:
Use 18ml per 454.6 litres (100 galloons) of pond or tank water.
DO NOT OVERDOSE. Over dosing can cause fish fatalities
SKIN FLUKES – a four day regime: Day 1 – Before using KUSURI Fluke P we recommend you treat with KUSURI Chloramine T to assist mucus layer removal.Apply 15g of KUSURI Chloramine T per 4,546 litres (1,000 gallons). Please check your pH and KH prior to using as Chloramine T can be very toxic in soft water. If your pH is below pH7 (acid) and has a general hardness below 6°dH (soft water) reduce the dose by 75%. Do NOT use with salt. Day 2 -Treat with KUSURI Fluke P using a full dose treatment. Day 3 – KUSURI Fluke P treatment. Day 4 – KUSURI Fluke P treatment.
GILL FLUKES – a four day regime:Treat as for Skin Flukes, as above, the four day regime. After 10 days scrape again.If Gill Flukes are still present repeat Day 2/Day 3/Day 4 KUSURI Fluke P treatments again.This allows for the eradication of life cycle and eggs
