Helps prevent clay chimeneas cracking from thermal shock
Line base of a clay chimenea with this pumice stone
1 bags is enough for the average chimenea
Pumice stone or lava rocks is a volcanic stone with high heat resistance, it will not burn and will help prevent thermal shock damage to a chimenea by keeping the hottest part of the fire off the base of the clay.
Line the base of you clay chimenea, firebowl or fire pit with the pumic stones, one 4 litre bag should cover the average chimenea base. Your fire can then be built on the stones, keeping the fire off the base of the chimenea.
